SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk has created the world’s most powerful rocket, the Falcon Heavy. If fully operational, the invention will become the world’s most capable spacecraft, capable of launching over 54 metric tons into orbit—or an airplane full of passengers. To handle this weight, the rocket requires 5 million pounds of thrust at liftoff, which is best combined with the power of 18 large airplanes.
Below is a SpaceX chart comparing historical models:

The spacecraft, designed for flights to the Moon and Mars, could provide incredibly fast intercontinental travel on Earth.
The most interesting news is the news of its launch, scheduled for this month. On Twitter, Musk revealed the planned mission and payload.
Payload will be my midnight cherry Tesla Roadster playing Space Oddity. Destination is Mars orbit. Will be in deep space for a billion years or so if it doesn’t blow up on ascent.

Musk also announced that the rocket will also carry a product from his other brainchild, the Tesla car company. The inventor noted that the electric car will play the legendary British singer David Bowie’s famous track «Space Oddity.» The flight, it seems, will be not only iconic but also stylish.
