Facebook adapts to 4K video

Some Pages and profiles can now post and watch 4K videos on Facebook.

The update could increase views of original videos on Facebook. Sports, science, travel, and fashion videos are particularly likely to benefit. Facebook launched 4K support for Live 360 ​​videos in July, but its standard 2D videos have long been limited to 720p. This was fine for most users, as they were filmed on phones. But now, Facebook video is attracting high-frame-per-second videos from professional Hollywood content creators.
