Netflix has officially announced a third season of Stranger Things

Netflix announced plans today to renew the hit Stranger Things for a third season. The announcement came shortly after Netflix asked the Twitterverse if the media company should produce another season.

Show creators Matt and Ross Duffer told Vulture back in August that a third season had already been greenlit. But now Netflix has made it official.

According to some Nielsen data, the show’s second season averaged 15.8 million US viewers in its first three days of availability. However, Netflix said the Nielsen «math» may be upside down. Netflix said Nielsen’s figures measured only a fraction of the actual viewing volume that fell on the streaming site.
